2021....is almost over
Well...I'm kind of at a loss of what to say. I have logged onto my website for the first time since April 2020. I cannot believe it has been that long since I have published a blog post. However, at the same time, I can totally believe it. In April of 2020, I fully anticipated the world to go back to normal by the summer at the latest. Never did I think we would still be in limbo today. We are approaching the end of 2021, and life has changed drastically for many people. My heart goes out to those who struggled more due to illness and loss. I can't imagine what you must be going through. We are all reeling from some sort of loss, though, aren't we?
Loss of what was, what could have been etc. So much of my life has changed in the past two years. I've learned a lot about myself and what I am capable of. I learned to slow down, put myself and my family first, how to take care of total strangers and realized it's never too late to go back to school and learn something new.
It's important to give yourself a break. We need to realize that we can't do it all. We need to listen to our bodies and minds when we have reached our limit and reach out when we need help. I hope you can see some good in this situation and look inside and realize all the good in yourself.
I will admit I barely baked over the last two years. I did, however, go back to school and am on my way to completing a diploma program as a social service worker. Once the kids went back to school, I tried to bake a bit more and regularly post on my Instagram and Facebook pages.
We also have a TikTok account. Because when you are stuck inside with nothing to do for weeks on end, you download an app and waste so many hours laughing and crying with people all over the world...or maybe that's just me :) tiktok.com/ar4c
So I say all this to say, thanks for reading. For continuing to read, interact online and support us. I hope to continue. But I also know my limits and that life is constantly changing, and I am trying my best to keep up. My dream is still to make it on the Great Canadian Baking Show season, so I must keep practicing. I hope you come back and check on us regularly to see what we are up to or follow us on our social media pages. In the meantime, take care of yourself, stay safe and love freely!
