It wasn't until I started having kids that I realized how much I loved party planning. Spending hours browsing Pinterest, making boards and trying to map out a way to pull it off without going broke. I loved the chance to try out each idea, and turn them into my own creation. It was so much fun.
We've always lived far from family. When it came to birthdays it was always a bit tough because they were not around to celebrate with us. I didn't want my kids to feel left out so I would reach out to friends and throw little parties for my kids. Some have become a bit bigger then intended but it's always been fun.
It does get tricky though coming up with different activities to keep kids occupied. My two older kids have winter Birthdays, so our options are limited. I'm always torn because my house isn't big enough for large crowds and I'm not always fond of renting places out due to our small budget. And then on top of that if your not having it at a play place of some sort then you have to entertain like 12 five year olds!
With that in mind I'm always looking for something inexpensive and yet entertaining at the same time. Since its warmer seasons my kids have been invited to what seems like a million birthday parties. No joke. But I've noticed a few of them have had a similar idea. Pinata's! It's genius. Especially with young boys. I was curious as to how much they would cost and I was pleasantly surprised. At our local Bulk Barn they have their pinata's and wrapped candy at 30% off from now until June 27th! I purchased a pinata and candy for $15. It was perfect! And the kids were just giddy. My suggestion would be not to take all three kids to the store and hope they will all agree on the same one without fighting. Mommy had to step in and convince them all that the treasure chest was the best idea. Thank goodness they love chocolate coins ;)
When you're planning your summer birthday parties, you'll have to keep that in mind. And if you give the kids a blow up bat you have endless hours of entertainment. 😂😂🤣🤣
