Going into February we didn't have much on the calendar. I thought I'd be able to post more regularly. Then we got hit AGAIN. I am really tired of all the sickness going around. It needs to be spring again!
The last time I posted I was talking about my daughters pink and gold themed birthday party. Now I wanted to talk about the cake. I did something a little different this time. I just started my very own YouTube channel. Wanna check it out? Click here and subscribe for all the latest videos. So I have made a video for each step of the process. I will include links so you can have a look! But before we go there let's talk about it.
I was looking at this cake as an excuse to try new fondant techniques. As I was about to buy more fondant my husband said "Don't make it all fondant. Not everyone likes the taste." So that kind of threw a wrench in the plans. Most of the people eating it were 5 years old girls, so it made sense. I went back to the drawing board and decided to make the top tier fondant and the bottom tier buttercream. I researched many different pink and gold cakes and came up with this idea!
Take a look at all the videos to see how we created it! :)
